Made for Bishoujo Jam 2018

My second small visual novel. Includes two routes with separate stories!

A third one was planned, but there sadly wasn't enough time.

Note: The name variables bug sometimes and I couldn't figure out why in time, restarting the game seems to help!

(This might be fixed now, but since it was hard to reproduce for me, I am not sure)

I-I c-can't s-speak c-correctly w-with A-Airi b-because s-she i-is v-very g-good :\

First Look

I haven't played many visual novel games; but in the first look, It seems it has a pretty generic story and art style for the game type. But considering this was created for a one week game jam; it is very well made!

The game's size, though, is so much comparing to its content! I don't know how optimizing export size works in VN Maker, but 330 MB is just too heavy for a visual novel game!

The game's folder looks like a war zone! I know this might be engine's fault. but It would be better to improve it at least after the game jam. (Many games are improved after their jam for other viewers; like Super Hot.)

Game's logo looks a bit... odd. The whole font used to spell the game's name look like some wolf/dog tails forming like words; even though, the story doesn't have any. But the sun looks good, and the underline is a cherry on top.

Game Experience

I'd rather say game experience instead of 'game play' because except of choosing a decision, you don't do anything, just like other visual novels.

The menu and UI looks good, however, it could be better in the options menu if the buttons were not just piled up in the center. (I suggest copying main menu style for options menu, even with the logo!)

The main game UI looks great; as I said, I haven't played much visual novel games but this UI was pleasing. I don't even know if it's VN Maker's default UI or anything but it works nice.

This game was a jam entry; but more pictures and animations makes it look and feel better; also, last panels of Airi's route was missing?

The overall art and sound was very good; music changing and characters expressions (mostly Airi) fit the situations so well.

A save system is a good practice though the game isn't too long to need any.

The whole game force quits with ESC; which I personally don't like.

Story & Characters (SPOILER ALERT)

You play as an academy student who has an exam which requires to be taken in a team; but your best friend has found another partner and you're studying in a library instead of finding another teammate!

Fortunately another academy student, Airi Valdnyr, is also solo; and you can either team up with her, or go single.

In my gamethrough, I teamed up with her, and apparently she is a quite skilled adventurer and only attends the academy for qualification benefits.

In other hands, you aren't skilled so much. Your profession is in healing and you're always amazed by how good Airi is in things that you don't. However; Airi is also amazed sometimes by your magical healing power.

There is also a chad named Alastair who is very full of himself and seems to enjoy bullying others for unknown reasons; and you can find other characters like your teacher, Valham Ashcroft the Scourage of Demons; Airi's best friend, Emiliara; her aunt, Arine; Airi's little brother, Ikio and your own best friend, Darion; which all don't actually appear or add much to the story.

It is mentioned several times that Airi is carrying a backpack? But the pictures don't have any:

In overall; I enjoyed this short novel; I played it to know Airi more and It was helpful!

This game is great for a one week jam entry. But I hope you improve it! Maybe continue the story more or just add that 3rd ending which you didn't have time for!

Sorry for the long review!

Hmmmmm
